Gutters? Why Do I Need Gutters?
At Premier Seamless Gutters, Inc  we try to answer that question as simply as possible, and the answer is . . . drainage!

A properly installed gutter system can greatly reduce, and in most cases eliminate, the following drainage problems:

  • Water in the basement due to excess rain or an early thaw
  • Moisture build-up behind siding and fascia boards, which will eventually cause decay
  • Overall wear and tear on siding, window casings, decks, and garage doors caused by the pounding force of rain coming off of the roof.
  • Erosion of expensive landscaping caused by rain washing it away
  • Aid and direct melting snow and ice from dripping on walkways and parking lots. This can eliminate a potential injury or liability for a business owner.
  • And don't forget about that annoying drip of rain on your forehead!

Should I go with the cheapest company?
When it comes to price the lower the price is not always better. The average price per foot for Seamless Gutters in the Metro Area is $3.75-$5.00 a foot for an average installation of 5" gutters with 2x3 downspouts (it does fluctuate up and down depending upon where you live and what is needed for your installation). All your estimates should be around the same general ball park. Think about it: there has to be a reason why a company is so much lower than the others. The simple reason is cutting corners. A company that offers services that are so much lower than the rest has to make up the difference some ware, and that's were the quality of materials and workmanship come into play.

Can ignoring leaks in my gutters cause problems in the future?
If you don't have gutters or your gutters are old, damaged, sagging, have missing parts or are improperly installed, it is likely exterior damage to your home is sure to follow. A gutter that is missing, or that drains too close to the house will saturate the ground. This saturation can produce a variety of problems. It is a breeding ground for Mold and Mildew. It will eat away at foundations and basement walls. Leaks and cracks will develop and will worsen quickly in the winter months when the ground freezes and expands.
Driveways and walkways will sink and rise, interior and exterior walls and floors can warp, bow or become wet, molded or stained. Entire homes have been destroyed due to water damage, which could have been easily and affordably prevented with a quality gutter system.
